Hiking

Kithulgala is one of Sri Lanka’s best Rain Forest locations with lush vegetation and Fauna. The hike takes you deep in to the jungle reserve where you will cross rivers, streams and water holes. The river could be crossed using either the bridge or cross it like the locals do by a catamaran. On route you will encounter exotic plant life and varied wildlife including birds, monkeys, lizards and water monitors.

Hiking

Hiking in Canada and the USA is the preferred term for a long, vigorous walk, usually on trails (footpaths), in the countryside, while the wordwalking is used for shorter, particularly urban walks. On the other hand, in the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Ireland, the term walking is used to describe all forms of walking, whether it is a walk in the park or trekking in the Alps. The word hiking is also sometimes used in the UK, along with rambling, hillwalking, and fell walking.

Kitulgala

Kitulgala is a small town in the west of Sri Lanka. It is in the wet zone rain forest, which gets two monsoons each year, and is one of the wettest places in the country. Nevertheless, it comes alive in the first three months of the year, especially in February, the driest month.
